Entrepreneurship Sector Director
Job Purpose
  • The role embarks on a mission for strategizing, facilitating, and promoting entrepreneurship, while branding Egypt as a global regional hub of entrepreneurship.
Job Accountabilities
  • • Create a platform for entrepreneurship that brings together diverse groups (entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, etc) to catalyze entrepreneurial activities and support start-ups, and that provides role models, defines key elements, and includes effective approaches and best practices.
    • Establish and supervise incubators of TIEC’s innovation hubs.
    • Provide vehicles to minimize the equity gap as organizing investment fairs and encouraging the creation of venture funds.
    • Influence and advocate for changes that would create competitive entrepreneurship environment of policies, laws, and regulations.
    • Promote and support providing widespread entrepreneurship courses and training for undergraduates and graduates.
    • Celebrate and recognize key achievements of entrepreneurship within universities and the ICT sector.
    • Close collaboration with concerned government agencies, international bodies, and civil society organizations to encourage entrepreneurship and bridge the gap between supply and demand.
Education
  • • IT-related B.Sc. university degree
    • MBA/M.Sc. in related field 
    • DBA/Ph.D. is a definite advantage
Required Experience
  • • Experience of not less than 15 years in the field of information technology.
    • Experience of not less than 5 years in the field of entrepreneurship and incubation management.
    • Previous experience and a high potential in developing policies, strategies, programs, and long and short-term plans and in following up implementation.
    • Previous experience in dealing with governmental organizations, international entities, universities and research centers, and civil society organizations.
    • Excellent understanding of startups’ funding mechanisms.

    • Ability to build a strong management team with complementary strengths.

    • Ability to listen effectively and inspire trust across teams and functions which motivates others to deliver beyond expectations.
    • Ability to manage the financial aspects within the approved budget.
    • Proficiency in English language in speaking and writing.
