During World Government Summit, ICT Minister Witnesses Signing MoU between ITIDA and MBRF

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat— during his participation in the World Government Summit—and the CEO of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) Jamal bin Huwaireb witnessed, today, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), to support cooperation and exchange of expertise and technical assistance between the two sides in the field of innovation and creation.

The agreement was signed by ITIDA Acting CEO Maha Rashad and MBRF Director of Partnerships Shamsa Al Balooshi.

The three-year MoU is aimed at achieving knowledge sharing between the two sides, establishing cooperation and exchanging knowledge during the Arab Innovation Summit, hosted in Dubai in February of each year through holding seminars, workshops, and symposia, within the Egyptian pavilion in the Summit, in addition intensifying efforts and joint action for holding the Arab Innovation Summit in Cairo in 2019.

MBRF is a global leading institution in knowledge and development, aiming to raise the level of scientific research, promote innovation and knowledge entrepreneurship, and contribute to promoting research and development activities. MBRF has launched Arab Innovation Summit, aiming to building knowledge societies and adopting projects and initiatives that support ideas and innovation, and empower youth to create sustainable solutions for their communities. The Arab Innovation Summit is a comprehensive platform for experts, institutions and entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations and discuss relevant issues.

The ICT Minister met with Huwaireb on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit, where the meeting discussed enhancing cooperation in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. The meeting reviewed the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to offer different programs for youth and startups through ITIDA and the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) to support innovation and intellectual property rights related to ICT and its applications.

The meeting was attended by ITIDA Acting CEO Maha Rashad, MCIT Media Advisor and Spokesman Mohamed Hanafi, Director of International Relations Division Mohamed El Gawsaky, ICT Minister’s Advisor for Public Relations Ihab Sadek, ICT Minister’s Office Sector Director Moataz Taha, from MCIT side. From MBRF side, the meeting was attended by Corporate Affairs Advisor to the Managing Director Saif Al Mansoo, Director of Partnerships Shamsa Al Balooshi, Director of Occasions and Exhibitions Hussein Al Shamsi, Head of Logistics Support Department Salem Al Owais, Head of Events Department Hussain Mohammed, and Chief Officer Partnership Joudeh Al Shaer.
