Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has opened “Pixelogic Media” new office in Smart Village, Egypt.
Pixelogic Media is specialized in IT, digital arts, and software development services for multimedia. It is a subsidiary of IMAGICA GROUP, a leading company in post-production services and a global provider of text and subtitle translation, dubbing into different languages, empowerment services for people with audio and visual disabilities, and translation of texts and metadata, and audio services.
Pixelogic Media signed an agreement with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to expand operations oriented to its customers outside Egypt and create over 440 new job opportunities.
During the opening ceremony, the ICT Minister met with the board members of Pixelogic Media and IMAGICA GROUP, the parent company.
Talaat emphasized that the opening of the “Pixelogic Media” new office and its interest to expand the volume of its business in Egypt reflect the state’s efforts to encourage foreign investment as well as international companies to open centers to export IT services from Egypt.
Talaat indicated that several agreements were signed recently, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, with 29 multinationals.
These agreements will achieve annual export revenues of $1 billion by 2025 and create about 34,000 new job opportunities for youth to serve global markets through 35 centers to export IT services.
The ICT Minister explained that Pixelogic Media is a leading company in digital arts. It provides technological services to major institutions specialized in the media production industry worldwide, which opens new horizons for the Egyptian market for distinct opportunities in the field of IT-based exporting quality services.
The ICT Minister pointed out that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is increasing the volume of exports of IT products and offshoring services by building youth capabilities and qualifying them to obtain decent job opportunities in this industry.
He highlighted MCIT interest in expanding the talent pool specialized in fields that have a promising future in the local and global labor market, including the digital arts. He also pointed to the significance of cooperation between the global company and the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) in building capacities and training.
ITIDA Acting CEO Ahmed Elzaher clarified that ITIDA signed recently an agreement with Pixelogic Media to expand its export-oriented business and create new job opportunities in outsourcing. Pixelogic Media will harness specialized Egyptian calibers to serve its customers through the company’s center in Egypt and provide specialized services to different countries, such as the US and the UK.
Elzaher pointed out that this cooperation comes within the framework of Digital Egypt strategy for Offshoring Industry 2022-2026, targeting encouraging and enabling global companies to expand their business in Egypt and increase digital exports.
For his part, Co-President at Pixelogic Media John Suh stated that the strategy of Pixelogic is to provide best-in-class services by utilizing a world-class operating system and leveraging the company’s technology and the exceptional talents of the employees.
He added that Pixelogic Media has been a significant driver of global growth since its establishment through its technology development capabilities and operational performance. He was pleased with the ongoing support and partnership with ITIDA and MCIT, which are significant for the company’s future growth and long-term success in Egypt.
The Managing Director at Pixelogic Media Mohamed Hashish expressed his pleasure with opening the company’s new office in Egypt. He emphasized that Egypt is the company’s main gate to Africa, in light of Egypt’s many advantages, most notably the provision of technical infrastructure, calibers, and the professionally highly-trained talent pool. This is in addition to the services’ competitive prices and the support provided by the Egyptian government to encourage investment in technical services.
The opening ceremony was attended by ITIDA Vice President for Electronic Transactions Security Hazem Nabil, General Manager at Pixelogic Media Egypt Tayssir Hawary, and several officials from MCIT and Pixelogic Media.
It is noteworthy that Pixelogic Media has many offices in various countries worldwide, including two offices in California, and one office in London, Cape Town, Tokyo, and Seoul. It provides its services to leading content creators, including major Hollywood studios and digital platforms. The main office of IMAGICA GROUP is located in Tokyo, Japan, and has 36 companies spread domestically and globally to provide services worldwide.
