Egypt Hosts the 3rd Presidential African Youth AI and Robotics Competition (AYAIR) 2026

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is proud to support the 3rd edition of the Presidential African Youth AI and Robotics Competition (AYAIR) 2026, hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt. This prestigious continental initiative is organized in collaboration with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) and the Elevate AI Africa foundation.

About the Competition: The AYAIR competition is a leading initiative aimed at empowering African youth—aged 18 to 35—by fostering innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies. The competition challenges participants to develop AI and robotics-based solutions that address the pressing developmental challenges facing the African continent.

Key Milestones & Participation:

  • -Submission Deadline: Applications are currently open and will be accepted until the end of May 2026.
  • -Judging Phase: Scheduled throughout June 2026.
  • -Event Promotion: Egypt’s hosting of the competition will be formally announced during the AU Mid-Year Coordination Meeting, held in El Alamein from June 24–27, 2026.
  • -Recognition: Select winners will be announced during the ITU’s "AI for Good" global summit, taking place from July 6–10, 2026.
  • -Awards Ceremony: The final awards ceremony is slated for October 1–2, 2026, hosted by the sponsoring nation.
