Within the framework of Egypt’s strategy for developing Sinai, and the human capital in North Sinai Governorate, Egypt is working to bring about an economic and social boom through injecting more government investments and implementing many projects in various sectors within this geographic area.

Within the framework of Egypt’s strategy for developing Sinai, and the human capital in North Sinai Governorate, Egypt is working to bring about an economic, social and security boom through injecting more government investments and implementing many projects in various sectors within this geographic area.

Program
 
 
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s strategy aims at increasing technical and linguistic capabilities of the people of North Sinai Governorate, and providing further job opportunities. The Information Technology Industry Development Agency signed a cooperation agreement with Arish University. The agreement aims to hone the ICT skills of university students and fresh graduates in North Sinai and prepare them for the job market.
 
Arish University-ITIDA agreement reflects a geographical expansion of training programs provided by the Ministry and its affiliates throughout Egypt. MCIT ensures to achieve communication and integration with the academic community to create a digital talent pool across all governorates. It also seeks to refine this cadre base via a skills matrix required by the labor market locally and globally.
 
The duration of the agreement is three years. It aims to foster collaboration in building the capabilities of residents of North Sinai Governorate by enhancing their skills in computer literacy, basic cybersecurity, English language, freelancing, entrepreneurship, and offering summer training for students of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Arish University.
Eligibility Criteria for Training Programs
 
 
Applicants must be born to parents residing in North Sinai Governorate,
 
Or: be born in North Sinai and have completed primary and preparatory education in North Sinai schools, or have obtained their general secondary education certificate (Thanaweya Amma) or Al-Azhar secondary certificate from a school in North Sinai,
 
Or: be currently enrolled at Arish University or any other educational institute in North Sinai.
Training Areas Covered by the Initiative
 


                   First: Training Programs for Students of the Faculty of Computers and Information – Arish University

 
Summer Training Program
Targets training students on the latest technologies in ICT in collaboration with the National Telecommunication Institute, the program is conducted during the summer break, either in person at the university or online.
 
Graduation Project Support
Supports and funds final-year graduation projects for students of the Faculty of Computers and Information. This is a part of an initiative to enhance collaboration between academia and industry.
 
Freelancing Skills Training
Equips students with essential freelancing skills to help them succeed and achieve professional independence in the digital job market.
 
English Language Training
Aims to ensure all students reach at least a B1 level in English by their second academic year.

                     Second: General Programs for Residents of North Sinai Governorate

 
Microsoft Office and Cybersecurity Basics Training
Aims to equip graduates in North Sinai with essential computer and cybersecurity skills needed in today’s job market.
 
Workplace Skills Training
Targets students and graduates, preparing them with key employability skills such as CV writing, effective communication, and interview techniques.
 
English Language Training
Provides residents of North Sinai with training in two intermediate levels of English.
 
Freelancing, Technical Training, and Entrepreneurship
Targets outstanding participants from previous programs (Microsoft Office and English) by equipping them with foundational freelancing and technical skills to succeed in the digital economy. The program includes two components:
- Technical Component (e.g. digital marketing)
- Freelancing or Entrepreneurship Component
