ITIDA Successfully Concludes 13th Virtual Employment Fair, Meeting Surging Demand in Egypt's Offshoring Landscape

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has successfully concluded its 13th annual Virtual Employment Fair, providing a platform for young talents to connect with job opportunities in Egypt's thriving IT sector. The event, held virtually on March 9, 2024, aimed to address the rising demand for skilled professionals in the expanding offshoring market.

During the opening remarks, Engineer Ahmed ELZaher, CEO of ITIDA, highlighted Egypt's IT & offshoring sector as one of the most dynamic with the highest potential for job creation in Egypt. He underscored ITIDA's dedication to organizing employment fairs, fostering networking opportunities between local abundant talent and university graduates with job openings in both local and global IT and outsourcing companies in Egypt.

ELZaher revealed that Egypt's offshoring industry achieved an impressive growth rate of 54% in 2023, propelled by the entry of new global outsourcing companies and the expansion of existing ones in the Egyptian market. The Egyptian ICT sector has maintained an average growth rate of 17% over the past five years, making it the highest-growing sector in the country during this period.

The 13th edition of ITIDA's employment fair provided approximately 2,500 new job opportunities in exporting IT services, Business Process Services, and offshoring services. A total of 78 companies operating in the ICT sector, including financial institutions and human resources companies, participated in the event. Over 6,200 young professionals registered to explore the diverse job opportunities presented.

The fair featured workshops conducted by experts from both local and multinational IT companies, along with educational sessions on remote employment and its advantages. ELZaher highlighted the significance of the fair's growth, reflecting the promising industry's expansion and the diversity of digital exports and job opportunities.

He emphasized that job opportunities in the IT sector extend beyond graduates of Engineering and Computer Science faculties, welcoming graduates from various disciplines. This inclusivity reflects the sector's growth and the multitude of employment prospects available.

ITIDA continues to play a crucial role in connecting qualified talent and university grads with leading IT companies, fostering employment awareness among Egyptian youth, and facilitating their access to the global IT job market. The agency remains committed to nurturing Egypt's position as a key player in the global IT services industry.
