More expansion ahead in collaboration with ITIDA
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Governor of Alexandria Mohamed Elsherief has opened today, a new office for Vodafone Intelligent Solutions (VOIS), a subsidiary of Vodafone Group, in Egypt’s Alexandria city.
The new office adds 1,000 new contact center jobs ro serve Vodafone’s global customers in both German and English languages.
Group Director at VOIS Gary Adey, Head of VOIS Egypt Ramy Kato, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) Amr Mahfouz, and officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) attended the opening ceremony.
The opening of the new office underpins Egypt as an attractive investment destination for multinational companies such as Vodafone, which is keen to expand its global delivery business in Egypt.
VOIS new office uses modern operation and management systems, providing a comprehensive portfolio of services and the best work environment for Vodafone’s team in UK and Australia.
VOIS Egypt serves 14 markets around the world. The company makes annual investments of 3 billion EGP in Egypt and exports services worth 145 million euros. In five years, VOIS aims to inject 18 billion EGP and bring the value of its business in Egypt to one billion euros. In addition, the company targets increasing the size of its team from 8,000 to 10,000+ employees.
In his remarks, the ICT Minister said that the opening of VOIS new office in Alexandria carries very positive messages; it proves that the Egyptian talent pool can compete effectively in the global ICT job market. The opening also reflects the successful implementation of Digital Egypt Strategy for Offshoring Industry, with some of the biggest outsourcing companies in the world ready to operate and expand in the Egyptian market.
Talaat added that ICT has been the fastest-growing state sectors for four years in a row. The volume of digital exports in Egypt reached 4.9 billion USD over the past fiscal year, up from 3.2 billion USD, and the number of trainees increased by over 55-fold. The budget for technical training saw a 26-fold increase, rising from 4,000 trainees with a 50 million EGP budget, to 225,000 at 1.3 billion EGP in the current fiscal year.
The Governor of Alexandria commended the company's accomplishments and stated that he looked forward to the creation of more jobs at VOIS for young people in Alexandria. Elsherief underlined that the governorate would clear the hurdles that the company may face as it expands its business and provide support in terms of development-related needs and facilities, in coordination with MCIT.

Mahfouz highlighted that the inauguration of the new office adds to the mutual journey of productive cooperation and constructive partnership between ITIDA and VOIS.

Mahfouz affirmed that the current geopolitical scene works in favor of Egypt where it guides investors and global service providers toward the country, being the ideal offshoring destination and the business services hub for the whole EMEA region.
VOIS Group Director said he was pleased to visit Egypt and open the new office in Alexandria. He highlighted that the opening is in line with VOIS plan for expansion, growth of business, and increase in the number of customers and high-performing employees.
Adey added that his company strives to create new job opportunities by carrying out training programs to upskill and qualify young people. He said that he looked forward to expanding in more governorates.
Commenting on the opening, Head of VOIS Egypt Ramy Kato underlined that the company has been very successful since joining the Egyptian market. VOIS Egypt delivers high-quality services and has a team of highly-skilled employees.
Kato noted that VOIS strategy involves establishing partnerships with different entities in a variety of areas, adding that the volume of business over the next five years is projected to hit one billion euros, helping attract foreign investment into the country.
As part of the opening ceremony, the ICT Minister witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between ITIDA and VOIS on expanding IT services (ITS) and business process services (BPS) operations in Egypt. Mahfouz and Kato signed the MOU.
