EME Accelerator is a high-impact acceleration initiative designed to empower visionary startups in Electronics, Smart Systems, and Industry 4.0. Launched through a strategic collaboration between ITIDA (Egypt Makes Electronics - EME), GIZ Egypt, and TUM International GmbH (TUMint), Germany, this program bridges the gap between Egyptian innovation and European technical excellence.

We are looking for Seed and Series A startups ready to scale their MVPs into market-leading solutions.

Program Journey
 
1Open Applications (Mar 18 – Apr 20, 2026): We invite high-potential Seed and Series A deeptech startups with validated MVPs or university spin-offs.
2 Interview & Selection (May 2026): Rigorous review and interviews by international experts with shortlisted ventures.
3 Acceleration (Jun – Nov 2026): 6 months of structured mentoring, investment readiness, technical support and curated investor meetings and international matchmaking events.
4 Demo Day (Nov/Dec 2026): Pitch to national and international investors, VCs and corporate leaders in Cairo.

Are You Eligible?
 


To qualify for EME Accelerator, startups must meet the following requirements:

 
Technology Focus: Operating in one or more of the mentioned Technology Focus areas
 
Maturity:

- Validated MVP or commercially deployed product.

- Research-based or university spin-off deeptech innovation with clear commercialization potential.
 
Legal: Registered entity in Egypt.
 
Stage: Seed or Series A.
 
Founding Team: Preferably a minimum of 2 founders.
 
Commitment: Founders must commit 3-6 hours/week (Jun – Nov 2026).

     

     Note: Pure idea-stage projects or academic research without a commercialization pathway are not eligible.

Advanced Microelectronics Lab (Testing, Measurement & Validation).

  • Co-working space at the Imhotep Innovation & Development Center – Knowledge City.

Investment Readiness: Targeted support for pitch decks, financial models, and due diligence preparation.

International Matchmaking: Participants engage in tailored matchmaking activities connecting them with corporate leaders, VCs, and innovation stakeholders across Europe and the MENA region.

Facilitation of Investor and VC Meetings: TUM International will support targeted introductions between selected startups and qualified investors.

Startup Mobility & Ecosystem Exposure: Some selected startups may receive support to participate in relevant international ecosystem events.

Demo Day Showcase: The program culminates in a professionally structured Demo Day in Cairo, providing startups with direct exposure to investors, industry leaders, and ecosystem stakeholders to facilitate investment and partnership outcomes.
