19 June 2025

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has visited the Cairo office of VXI Global Solutions, a leading provider of customer experience (CX) and business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions. He was accompanied by VXI's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Ryan Collins, VXI's Global Chief HR Officer Erika King, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) Ahmed Elzaher, and VXI's Vice President of Operations in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa Ahmed Bahgat, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the company.

During the visit, the ICT Minister explored the company's on-ground operations and received a detailed presentation from VXI officials outlining its expansion plans within the Egyptian market. VXI aims to grow its workforce from over 1,000 employees to more than 5,000 by the end of 2028, backed by total investments expected to reach USD 135 million.

In his remarks, Talaat emphasized that this inspection visit reflects MCIT's efforts to strengthen engagement with multinationals operating in Egypt's offshoring sector. He highlighted the government's dedication to cultivating an attractive, business-friendly ecosystem that supports the growth of this promising industry. Promoting offshoring investment, he explained, is a key pillar in positioning Egypt as a favorable global destination for service delivery.

The ICT Minister also pointed out that Egypt is experiencing continued growth in the number of delivery centers, driven by sustained efforts to advance the industry through investments in building digital capacity and offering targeted incentives, contributing to boosting Egypt's digital exports and solidifying its status as a global hub for high-value offshoring services. He added that the Ministry continues to cooperate with offshoring companies to broaden the talent pool equipped with the skill sets required by these companies.

During his tour, Talaat was keen to engage with several young employees, who shared their professional experiences and how they managed to pursue a career in the offshoring industry despite their diverse academic backgrounds. They also discussed the skills and practical expertise they have gained through their roles at VXI.

In this regard, the ICT Minister underlined the government's commitment to empowering youth by equipping them with the digital competencies needed to secure decent job opportunities within the offshoring industry. He noted that the industry is among the most promising sectors, offering vast prospects for professional growth and career advancement, alongside competitive financial rewards.

For his part, Collins stated that VXI's expansion in Egypt reflects the incredible potential of the region, not only in terms of the country's cost-effective operations but also its role as a hub of multilingual talent and strategic access across the European, Middle Eastern, and African (EMEA) markets. The rapid growth that the company has achieved is a testament to the strength of local delivery teams and the exceptional quality of Egyptian talent in delivering scalable, high-quality CX solutions from Cairo.

Elzaher, for his part, underlined that VXI's expansion in Egypt reflects the growing international confidence in the Egyptian economy and serves as a clear indication of the investment viability of the offshoring industry, one of the fastest-growing and most impactful industries in terms of employment and export opportunities. Investments like VXI's support the country's goals to increase digital service exports and boost the digital economy's contribution to the GDP, Elzaher added. This is achieved by creating thousands of specialized job opportunities and transferring global operational expertise to the local market.

Elzaher also pointed out that Egypt offers a well-integrated ecosystem for attracting foreign investment, featuring a stable and secure business environment, reliable digital infrastructure, competitive investment incentives, and a large pool of qualified talent across various offshoring and digital service export fields, thus reinforcing Egypt's position as a global service hub for multinationals.

Having established its footprint in Egypt in December 2023, VXI commenced actual service delivery in March 2024. It serves clients in Germany, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and the United States, offering services in six different languages. Its expansion plan in Egypt stands out among its key global strategies, fueled by the rising global demand for tech-enabled CX services and strong confidence in the efficiency and capabilities of the Egyptian workforce.

In a similar vein, Bahgat stated that VXI Egypt values the government's support and commitment to the growth of the BPO industry. These efforts have helped position Egypt among the top three global destinations for foreign investments in this industry.

Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Los Angeles, California, VXI employs over 43,000 specialists across more than 43 offices worldwide, including in North America, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. VXI delivers advanced services supporting digital transformation through digital contact centers, automation and AI solutions, and omnichannel and multilingual engagement models that ensure a seamless, integrated customer experience across various media and platforms.
