The Egyptian Ministry
of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announced
the launch of the first Techie kit programme
under Egypt Makes Electronics (EME) initiative to
endorse digital transformation.
The programme aims to provide training to students and graduates, in
collaboration with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Center (TIEC) of the Information Technology Industry
Development Agency (ITIDA), Orange Digital Center
(ODC), the German Agency for International Cooperation
(GIZ), and Creativa Innovation Hubs.
Enrolled individuals will get their training within Creativa Innovation Hubs in
different governorates; Alexandria, Mansoura, Menoufia, Ismailia, Minya,
Assiut, Sohag, Qena, and Aswan.
Techie kit programme provides training in many specialisations such
as software engineering and digital fabrication (hardware).
The ministry noted that the deadline for applications is 20 July.
Creativa Innovation Hubs is a national project established by MCIT in
cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to
help students, entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and
startups to become key players in achieving digital transformation within
different sectors across Egypt.
