Egypt has taken a groundbreaking step in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region by launching its first specialized Android Automotive training program.
This initiative, developed through a collaboration between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the Information Technology Institute (ITI), and DXC Luxoft, addresses the growing demand for skilled professionals in the automotive software sector.
Launched in July 2024, the six-month training program equips engineers with cutting-edge skills to meet the needs of software-defined vehicles. The curriculum covers essential topics such as Linux, C++, Kotlin, cybersecurity, and platform integration, with a strong focus on Android Auto and Android Automotive OS.
The program's first cohort of 28 graduates is now certified and employed at DXC Luxoft, showcasing the success of this public-private partnership in fostering innovation and creating high-value job opportunities.
"This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing Egypt's digital talent and strengthening our position as a global hub for high-value services in automotive software and beyond," stated Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
This program aligns with Egypt's broader strategy to empower its youth with future-ready skills while positioning itself as a leader in advanced technology sectors.
With over 730,000 university graduates annually — many specializing in IT and engineering — Egypt offers a competitive talent pool for global tech companies. Its proximity to Europe further enhances its appeal as a hub for scalable innovation.
