TTEC Expands Operations in Egypt with New Headquarters

TTEC is a leading global customer experience (CX) technology and services innovator for AI-enabled digital CX solutions. The new office marks a significant milestone, solidifying Egypt's position as a prominent hub for offshoring and business process outsourcing (BPO).

Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA)'s CEO, Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, TTEC's Senior VP for EMEA, Simon Garabette, ITIDA's Sector Director of ICT Markets Development, Mahmoud Sofrata, TTEC Egypt Country Manager, Amira Bassiouny, TTEC's Executive Director for Customer Care Operations in EMEA, Yaser Heda, along with several senior officials from the company attended the opening ceremony.

TTEC launched its pilot operations in Egypt in 2023. Since then, it has experienced remarkable growth, expanding its workforce to approximately 260 employees in 2024. The company also received a license from the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in November last year to establish and operate contact centers.

The company plans to expand its center and increase its workforce in Egypt over the next three years, contributing to job creation in the fields of customer service, customer acquisition, fraud prevention and detection, and content moderation services.

Through its office in Egypt, TTEC provides a wide array of services to customers across various destinations, capitalizing on the expertise of Egypt's skilled workforce, proficient in multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Russian. This capability is supported by the country's rich pool of multilingual talent and its cost-effective operations.

The company offers AI-powered, cloud-based, multi-channel platforms and CX consulting solutions that leverage data-driven insights and outcomes. These services are delivered to global customers from the Egypt-based office, covering diverse sectors such as tourism, technology, finance, healthcare, public services, telecommunications, and media.

In his remarks, the ICT Minister emphasized that the company's decision to expand its investments in Egypt reflects the confidence of multinationals in the country's thriving investment landscape for the offshoring industry. He highlighted that Egypt boasts a highly advanced digital infrastructure supporting the sector's growth, along with a large pool of qualified young talents whose expertise has been refined to align with global market demands.

The ICT Minister also noted that the presence of state-of-the-art technology and business parks equipped to the highest standards offers companies a comprehensive operational ecosystem, enabling them to enhance efficiency and scale their operations. He underlined the government's unwavering commitment to developing regulatory frameworks that support the offshoring sector, strengthening Egypt's position to attract more investments, create new job opportunities, and boost digital exports, thus contributing to strengthening the role of the ICT sector in driving national economic development.

For his part, Elzaher underscored that the opening of the TTEC office in Egypt is a testament to the national growing prominence in the offshoring industry globally, reinforcing its role as a BPO prime hub.

El-Zaher emphasized that Egypt's multilingual, skilled workforce is a key factor in attracting global companies like TTEC and that ITIDA will continue to develop opportunities to meet the growing demand.

Furthermore, the President of TTEC Engage John Abou, for his part, commended the Cairo-based team's dedication and high efficiency, establishing the Egypt office as a cornerstone of the company's global operations. He added that Egypt, as a rapidly growing hub for talent and innovation, provides TTEC with a unique opportunity to enhance and expand its service offerings, delivering customer support solutions tailored to diverse markets and cultures, in line with global requirements.

In addition, Bassiouny remarked that the TTEC office in Cairo exemplifies the company's commitment to leveraging Egyptian expertise and talent, equipping them with advanced technologies like AI and analytics to improve customer experiences. She underscored that the company is interested in expanding its operations in Egypt and investing in its talented professionals who have contributed to driving the company's success.

The opening ceremony was attended by several officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and ITIDA. It was joined by several TTEC officials, including Senior Vice President of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance Wes Humphrey and the Vice President of Healthcare CX Solutions Billy Spegal, along with several international customers.
